Because your feet are unique, your first appointment involves an extensive foot health assessment with a podiatrist that lasts for up to 45 minutes. During this time, we’ll conduct a full medical history and take details of any medication you’re taking, allergies, and any previous chiropody or podiatry treatment you’ve received. We’ll also discuss any concerns or problems you have with your feet.
We begin the treatment by examining your feet and lower limbs, looking closely at your skin, nails, and foot alignment. All patients have a vascular assessment using Doppler so we can check your blood flow and determine whether you suffer from poor circulation. Where necessary, we’ll gently file away any corns or hard skin, and trim and file your toenails.
Chiropody and Podiatry Treatments
If you require a specialist chiropody treatment, we can often start this at your initial consultation, with your consent. Our treatments include:
We can also use your initial consultation to discuss biomechanical issues (the way your foot functions), as the first step towards a full biomechanical assessment and orthotics therapy. However, if you specifically wish to have such treatment, we can arrange this without an initial consultation if you prefer.
Treatment Plans and Follow-up Treatments
You’ll leave the initial consultation with a treatment plan, along with some advice on how to maintain optimal foot health.
Some treatments may require more than one session, in which case you may need to schedule a follow-up session or sessions. Follow-up sessions start from £50, although some treatments have different prices. For full details, please consult our fees page.
